About the Instructor

Avantika Seth is an oral historian and documentary practitioner working at the intersection of memory, migration, and lived experience. She holds a Master's degree in Oral History from Columbia University and brings over a decade of experience as a journalist and researcher to her practice. Through listening-based practices, film, and collaborative storytelling, she works with individuals, families, and institutions to document histories shaped by displacement, silence, and survival. Her work spans workshops, institutional archives, and family oral histories—bringing together interviews, objects, photographs, and moving image to create layered narratives of belonging across global contexts.
